I want to mount my LCD on a feature wall. Where do I start? Any good carpenters or designers?

Just bought a 40″ LCD and want to wall mount it, however directly wall mounting it would mean leaving wires exposed. So I was thinking of putting a Feature Wall behind my tv cabinet to hide the wires. Simple and sleek design. Maybe some shelves around the “lcd area” but not too many in case it gets cluttered. My room is white, with brown parquet floor. The furniture is a darker chocolate brown oak veneer. Anybody who has done the same or has any ideas on where to start feel free to respond! Thanks!

To make a really neat job of it I would recommend getting a wall plate with the same connections on it as on the back of the TV. Make shure that it covers all of the inputs and outputs and place it behind the TV where you are going to mount it, as well as get a power point put there. Than choose a entertainment unit so that you can put all of your other home theater equipment in it and get a matching wall plug and put it behind where the entertainment unit is going. Than paint the wall the color that you want it, now screw the mounting plate to the wall and connect all of the inputs and outputs from the tv to the wall plate and plug the tv in and turn it on. Make sure that the power point is surge protected and maby even get a switch for it put somewhere else so that you can easily turn it off in an electrical storm. Make sure that all of the cables that are in the wall that connect the two plates are high quality so that you don’t loose any signal strength. Now place the entertainment unit where it is going and plug the rest of your home theater in and it is finished. Make sure that you have plenty of surge protected power points for your home theater equipment. As a guide get 2 more outlets as you need now to allow for expansion. It should look great
